Regular Season Round 12: Crvena Zvezda - Stara Pazova 78-53

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Crvena Zvezda as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Crvena Zvezda smashed 8th ranked Stara Pazova in Beograd 78-53. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Stara Pazova. The game without a history. Crvena Zvezda led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Stara Pazova 46-22 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Katarina Vuckovic (191-94) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Mina Jovanovic (175-89, college: Longwood) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Four Crvena Zvezda players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Ivana Terzic (187-86) who recorded 21 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and swingman Dijana Stancic (182-93) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Stara Pazova's coach Jovan Gorec gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Stara Pazova at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Sumadija KG. Stara Pazova will play next round against Vrbas Medela trying to get back on the winning streak. Crvena Zvezda will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Student Radnicki in Nis.
