Very expected game in Giessen where 18th ranked LTi 46ers (2-10) were defeated by fourth ranked ALBA Berlin (8-2) 71-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by ALBA Berlin. LTi 46ers was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when ALBA Berlin made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) who added 9 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Dominik Spohr (198-89, agency: Limelight Hoops) with 19 points and American guard Ryan Brooks (193-88, college: Temple, agency: Pro One Sports) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. LTi 46ers' coach Matthias Fischer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ALBA Berlin have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser LTi 46ers stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. ALBA Berlin will face Walter Tigers (#10) in Tuebingen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. LTi 46ers will play on the road against EnBW Ludwigsburg (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
