Regular Season Round 11: Haskovo 2012 - Rilski Sportist 79-62

Bottom-ranked Rilski Sportist (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 79-62 loss to sixth ranked Haskovo 2012 (4-5) in Haskovo on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Haskovo 2012. Rilski Sportist managed to win third quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Haskovo 2012 forced 21 Rilski Sportist turnovers. It was a great evening for Bosnian guard Amra Mehmedic (177-81) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Bosnian power forward Alma Kovacevic (186-83) helped adding 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks. Guard Veronika Djikova (180-90) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American power forward Anne Farrell (187-88, college: Centenary, LA, agency: Global Sports Plaza) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Rilski Sportist players scored in double figures. Haskovo 2012 moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Beroe. Rilski Sportist lost their tenth game in a row. They still closes the standings with ten games lost. Haskovo 2012 will meet league's second-placed Dunav 8806 in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rilski Sportist will play against Beroe (#4) in Stara Zagora and hopes to get finally their first victory.
