Regular Season Round 13: Juventus - Rudupis 72-88

LKL top team - Rudupis (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Juventus (4-4) in Utena 88-72. The game was mostly controlled by Rudupis. Juventus managed to win fourth quarter 17-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Rudupis forced 19 Juventus turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Juventus helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Estonian Siim-Sander Vene (203-90, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 6 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Rudupis players scored in double figures. Rudupis' coach Virginijus Seskus used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Karolis Petrukonis (212-87, college: Clemson) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and guard Arvydas Cepulis (197-79) added 17 points in the effort for Juventus. Rudupis have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Juventus at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Lietkabelis. Rudupis are looking forward to face Sakalai (#11) in Vilnius in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Juventus will play on the road against Lietkabelis (#7) in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
