Bottom-ranked Frankivsk-Hal. (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 89-82 loss to fourth ranked Elizabeth-Basket (5-3) in Kirovograd. The hosts were already 16 points ahead at halftime and as many as 21 after three quarters before a 30-16 last quarter charge of Frankivsk-Hal. cut the lead to 89-82 at the end of the game. Elizabeth-Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Frankivsk-Hal.'s 30. They outrebounded Frankivsk-Hal. 42-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for international swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Alisa Ievtushenko (191-89, agency: LBM Management) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Five Elizabeth-Basket players scored in double figures. Elizabeth-Basket's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Olga Chernenko answered with 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and guard Katerina Polyanychka (178-90) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Frankivsk-Hal.Elizabeth-Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Dynamo. Frankivsk-Hal. at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Elizabeth-Basket will play against league's second-placed Tim-Scuf in Kyiv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Frankivsk-Hal. will play on the road against Interkhim (#5) in Odessa and hopes to get finally their first victory.
