Regular Season Round 12: Pertevniyal - Trabzonspor 66-75
Date: December 12, 2012
There was no surprise in Istanbul where 10th ranked Pertevniyal (5-7) was defeated by eighth ranked Trabzonspor (7-5) 75-66. It looked good early as Pertevniyal took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Trabzonspor had a 22-13 second period charge getting the lead and Pertevniyal was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-75. It was a great shooting night for Trabzonspor especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. The winners were led by naturalized Azerbaijani forward Rasim Bashak (200-80, agency: Court Side) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Henry Antwan Dobie (183-78, college: LIU Brooklyn) supported him with 13 points and 7 assists. Even 23 points and 5 rebounds by American guard Dewayne Reed (185-87, college: Auburn, agency: EM-PA) did not help to save the game for Pertevniyal. His fellow American import forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) added 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trabzonspor moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Vestel and Akhisar Bld. Pertevniyal at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Trabzonspor's next round opponent will be higher ranked Yesilgiresun (#5) in Giresun and it may be quite challenging game. Pertevniyal will play on the road against Izmir BSB (#18).
