Regular Season Round 18: Bakken - Svendborg 75-79

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Aarhus. First ranked Svendborg faced second-best Bakken. Guests from Svendborg (14-1) defeated host Bakken (12-3) 79-75. Bakken trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 12 after three quarters before a 25-17 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 75-79 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was U.S. Virgin Islands power forward Gregory Washington (208-84, college: Hofstra) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) chipped in 18 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Chris Christoffersen (218-79, college: Oregon) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC) added 22 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Svendborg maintains first position with 14-1 record. Defending champion Bakken keeps the second place with three games lost. Svendborg are looking forward to face SISU (#4) in Copenhagen in the next round. Bakken will play on the road against Aalborg and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
