Regular Season Round 19: S.Marciulionio - Zanavykas 88-76

An interesting game took place in Vilnius, where 4th placed Zanavykas (13-6) lost to tenth ranked S.Marciulionio (10-9) in a road game 76-88 on Friday. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Zanavykas. Forward Remigijus Sugintas (200-87) fired 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four S.Marciulionio players scored in double figures. S.Marciulionio's coach Gintaras Kruckauskas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Edgaras Stanionis (193-88) produced 25 points and 5 rebounds and center Vilius Sumskis (213-84, agency: Interperformances) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. S.Marciulionio moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Meresta. Newly promoted Zanavykas dropped to the third position with six games lost. S.Marciulionio will face league's second-placed Dzukija in Alytus in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zanavykas will play at home against Nafta Universitetas in Klaipeda.
