The game in Lviv was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Khimik (12-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Halychyna (10-10). Khimik managed to secure a 6-point victory 92-86 on Friday. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 30-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Khimik dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Halychyna's 28 and made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Halychyna 34-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Vernon Goodridge (206-84, college: La Salle) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who added 20 points and 5 assists during the contest. Goodridge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Khimik's coach Zoran Martic used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Michael Lee (207-86) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and Serbian-Bosnian point guard Sasa Vasiljevic (180-79, agency: Beo Basket) scored 20 points (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Khimik maintains fourth position with 12-5 record. Halychyna lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with ten games lost. Khimik will meet Hoverla (#5) in the next round. Halychyna will play against BC Odessa and hope to secure a win.
