No shocking result in a game when third ranked CAB Madeira (7-2) crushed bottom-ranked Galitos-Tley (1-7) in Barreiro 87-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. CAB Madeira led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Galitos-Tley to just 7 points in second quarter. CAB Madeira made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Galitos-Tley turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Jorge Coelho (200-78) nailed 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Jason Smith (183-83, college: Al.-Huntsville) accounted for 20 points. Four CAB Madeira players scored in double figures. American guard Jeremy Bynum (190-88, college: Jacksonville St., agency: Interperformances) came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Chris Barnes (205-88, college: Georgia) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Galitos-Tley in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for CAB Madeira. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ovarense. Galitos-Tley lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Alges. CAB Madeira will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Galitos-Tley will play against the league's leader Benfica (#1).
