Regular Season Round 9: TED Ankara - Samsun 83-65

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked TED Ankara (2-7) defeated at home 11th ranked Samsun (2-7) 83-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. TED Ankara led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. TED Ankara forced 27 Samsun turnovers. Montenegrin swingman Ana Dabovic (183-89) stepped up and scored 31 points and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and American center Marcedes Marie Walker (191-86, college: Pittsburgh, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American swingman Megan Frazee (191-87, college: Liberty) with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Hungarian power forward Anna Vadja (191-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. TED Ankara moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Samsun. Samsun lost their sixth game in a row. TED Ankara will face higher ranked Kayseri (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
