Regular Season Round 12: Utena - Kibirkstis-Tiche 55-85

LMKL top team - Kibirkstis-Tiche (11-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Utena (2-10) 85-55. The game without a history. Kibirkstis-Tiche led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Utena to just 7 points in third quarter. Kibirkstis-Tiche forced 20 Utena turnovers. The winners were led by the former international forward Vita Kuktiene (186-80) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and center Ieva Preskienyte (193-93) supported her with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Four Kibirkstis-Tiche players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds by American forward Vita Zilinskaite (190-93, college: UTEP) did not help to save the game for Utena. Guard Asta Daujadiene (176-73) added 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Kibirkstis-Tiche maintains first position with 11-1 record. Utena lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with ten games lost. Kibirkstis-Tiche will play against Aistes-LSU (#6) in Kaunas in the next round where they are favorite. Utena will play on the road against the league's second-placed Sirenos in Kaunas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
