Regular Season Round 11: Bamberg - Osnabruck 70-78

Date: December 15, 2012
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Osnabruck (6-5) defeated on the road 10th ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (2-9) 78-70. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-14. But Don Bosco Bamberg won second period 17-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was dominated by American players. It was an exceptional evening for guard Angela Pace (178-87, college: Robert Morris) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Ali Schwagmeyer (180-90, college: Quincy, agency: Gamble Sports Management) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) came up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and guard Jessica Miller (173-88, college: Ill.-Chicago) added 12 points and 4 steals respectively for Don Bosco Bamberg in the defeat. Don Bosco Bamberg's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Osnabruck maintains fifth place with 6-5 record, which they share with Marburg and Freiburg. Don Bosco Bamberg at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Osnabruck's next round opponent will be Rhein Main Baskets (#9) in Langen. Don Bosco Bamberg will play on the road against Oberhausen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
