Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Ploiesti (9-3) defeated at home 8th ranked Gaz Metan (7-6) 75-68 on Saturday. Ploiesti made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Gaz Metan turnovers. Strangely Gaz Metan outrebounded Ploiesti 41-20 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center Catalin Burlacu (210-77, agency: Court Side) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Serbian guard Aleksandar Vlahovic (190-90) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists.
