Regular Season Round 9: Levski Sofia - Chernomorets 90-81

There was no surprise when 8th ranked Chernomorets (3-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Levski Sofia (7-2) 90-81. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chernomorets won third quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Levski Sofia forced 23 Chernomorets turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Chernomorets was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Serbian point guard Marko Marinovic (183-83) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International guard Zlatin Georgiev (195-85) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Levski Sofia's coach Konstantin Papazov allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center James Tyler (218-88) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and Bogdan Boev (196-82) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Chernomorets. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Levski Sofia have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Rilski Sportist. Chernomorets lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Spartak Pleven.
