We should mention about the upset which took place in Pleven, where 4th placed Balkan (5-5) lost to ninth ranked Spartak Pleven (3-6) in a road game 85-93. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Balkan. Balkan was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Tsvetoslav Ostrev (184-86) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Dimitar Marintchechki (201-90, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International Ivan Lilov (196-88) answered with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Jordan Bozov (191-79, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 26 points in the effort for Balkan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Balkan's coach Aleksandar Todorov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Spartak Pleven moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Chernomorets. Balkan at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost.
