Regular Season Round 11: Oberhausen - Heli Girls 66-59

Round 11 in DBBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Oberhausen where host Oberhausen (2-9) beat league's leader Heli Girls (9-2) 66-59 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Heli Girls. The hosts trailed by 15 points after three quarters before their 33-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Oberhausen made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Heli Girls turnovers. The best player for the winners was Fijian guard Valerie Nainima (165-86, college: S.Carolina) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The former international center Katsiaryna Zberch (188-78) chipped in 15 points. Cuban forward Yadira Francis (186-85) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Amanda Rego (170-86, college: San Diego) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Four Heli Girls players scored in double figures. Oberhausen moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Herner and Bamberg. Heli Girls at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Wasserburg who have the same record. Heli Girls will play next round against strong SV Halle Lions trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Oberhausen will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Don Bosco Bamberg at home.
