Very expected game when 7th ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (5-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked SV Halle Lions (8-3) 65-56. Rotenburg/Scheessel was ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 40-22 second half run of SV Halle Lions. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Daphanie Kennedy (175-86, college: Pepperdine) who led the winners and scored 27 points. Canadian forward Tamara Tatham (185-85, college: Massachusetts) accounted for 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Samantha Meissel (188-88, college: Indianapolis) came up with 22 points and the other American import guard Vanessa House (170-88, college: W.Virginia) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Rotenburg/Scheessel in the defeat. SV Halle Lions have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 8-3 record behind leader Wasserburg. Newly promoted Rotenburg/Scheessel dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. SV Halle Lions' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Heli Girls in Noerdlingen and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play on the road against Eisvogel Freiburg (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
