Very expected game when 8th ranked TG Neuss (4-7) were defeated on the road by third ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (7-4) 68-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by ASC Theresianum Mainz. TG Neuss was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Czech center Gabriela Jandova (190-73) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (180-87) chipped in 9 points and 18 rebounds. American point guard Shacondra James (172, college: Cent.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Hannah Wischnitzki (170) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. ASC Theresianum Mainz maintains third place in North with 7-4 record having just two points less than leader Saarlouis. TG Neuss lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost. ASC Theresianum Mainz will face league's second-placed Berlin on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TG Neuss will play against Hannover (#12).
