Regular Season Round 10: Hacettepe - Fener.Ulker 59-92
Date: December 16, 2012
There was no surprise in Ankara where 15th ranked Hacettepe (2-8) was crushed by second ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (9-1) 92-59. The game without a history. Fenerbahce Ulker led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Hacettepe was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American-FYR Macedonian point guard Bo McCalebb (178-85, college: New Orleans) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. Central African swingman Romain Sato (194-81, college: Xavier) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Fenerbahce Ulker players scored in double figures. American forward Michael Glover (200-87, college: Iona) replied with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Muhammed Baygul (191-92) added 15 points in the effort for Hacettepe. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fenerbahce Ulker have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Galatasaray. Hacettepe lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with eight games lost. They share the position with Antalya and Gaziantep. Fenerbahce Ulker will play against league's second-placed Galatasaray in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hacettepe will play on the road against Gaziantep (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
