The game in Aliaga was quite interesting. Sixth ranked Besiktas (6-4) played at the court of 8th ranked Aliaga (4-6). Besiktas managed to secure a 4-point victory 76-72 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-12. But Aliaga won second period 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Patrick Christopher (196-88, college: California, agency: 1x1 Sports) fired 21 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. Guard Curtis Jerrells (185-87, college: Baylor) chipped in 15 points. Center Torin Francis (210-83, college: Notre Dame) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Preston Shumpert (198-79, college: Syracuse) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Aliaga players scored in double figures. Aliaga's coach Burak Biyiktay rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains sixth position with 6-4 record. Aliaga at the other side keeps the eighth place with six games lost. They share the position with Tofas and Erdemir. Besiktas are looking forward to face higher ranked Anadolu Efes (#3) in Istanbul in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aliaga will play on the road against Karsiyaka (#4) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
