Regular Season Round 14: Targu Mures - CSU Sibiu 89-83

Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Targu Mures (10-4) won against at home 10th ranked CSU Sibiu (7-7) 89-83. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But CSU Sibiu won third quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montenegrin guard Branko Cuic (197-78) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (199-80, agency: BeoExcell) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American center Christopher Lee (206-84, college: S.Carolina St., agency: Duran International) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard Mihail-Octavian Paul (188-82) added 26 points and 7 assists in the effort for CSU Sibiu. Targu Mures have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-4 record, which they share with Craiova. CSU Sibiu at the other side dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Targu Mures will play against Miercurea Ciuc (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CSU Sibiu will play against CSM Bucuresti (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
