Regular Season Round 10: Sakarya - Tekkekoy 73-43

There was an upset when higher ranked Tekkekoy (4-6) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked Sakarya (3-7) 73-43 on Friday. The game without a history. Sakarya led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Tekkekoy to an opponent 18.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Sakarya forced 20 Tekkekoy turnovers and outrebounded them 60-37 including a 46-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tekkekoy was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Sevgi Esenler (-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) fired 9 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Yesim Senturklu (-92) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Sakarya's coach felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. Bilgehan Dursun (-90) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Merve Uzun (-90) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Sakarya moved-up to eighth place in Group C. Tekkekoy lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with six games lost.
