Rather predictable result in Krivoy Rog where sixth ranked Halychyna (12-10) defeated 9th ranked Kryvbasbasket (9-13) 70-59 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Halychyna. Kryvbasbasket managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Kryvbasbasket to just 3 points in first quarter. Halychyna made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Kryvbasbasket turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: Beo Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds. American point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. Four Halychyna players scored in double figures. Halychyna's coach Zeljko Lukajic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Halychyna moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hoverla. Kryvbasbasket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Halychyna will meet league's second-placed Ferro-ZNTU in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kryvbasbasket will play against Hoverla (#5) in Frankivsk and hope to secure a win.
