A very close game took place in Yuzhny between BC Donetsk and Khimik. Tenth ranked BC Donetsk (9-8) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Khimik (12-7). BC Donetsk managed to escape with a 1-point win 73-72 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 20-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American-Trinidad and Tobago center D'or Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American point guard Doron Perkins (188-83, college: Santa Clara) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Four BC Donetsk players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to ninth place. Loser Khimik keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. BC Donetsk will meet BC Odessa (#13) on the road in the next round. Khimik will play against Azovmash (#3) in Mariupol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
