We should mention about the upset which took place in Kaunas, where higher ranked Meresta (11-11) lost to thirteenth ranked Birstono (9-13) in a road game 71-77 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 29-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Paulius Kleiza (195-88) scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Mantas Lukminas (194-90) chipped in 18 points during the contest. At the losing side guard Tomas Gaidamavicius (191-82) responded with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and center Julius Jucikas (205-89) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Birstono have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Delikatesas. Loser Meresta dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with S.Marciulionio. Birstono will meet higher ranked S.Marciulionio (#10) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Meresta will play against Gargzdai-Bremena and hope to secure a win.
