Very expected game in Traiskirchen where 11th ranked Arkadia Lions (1-11) were defeated by seventh ranked Gussing Knights (6-6) 79-64 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Gussing Knights's pressure prevailed and they won that period 24-11 extending their advantage to 15 points. International point guard Thomas Klepeisz (185-91, agency: TSS Management) fired 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Slovenian forward Elvis Kadic (201-80, agency: Kotnik Sports Agency) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Gussing Knights' coach Radomir Mijanovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentinian-Italian center Matias Bortolin (205-93, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Radosav Spasojevic (204-92, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Gussing Knights moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Wels. Loser Arkadia Lions stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Gussing Knights will meet at home St.Polten (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Arkadia Lions will play against UBSC Graz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
