5th ranked VolinBasket (7-5) fell to eighth ranked Kirovograd (6-12) in overtime by seven points 87-94 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of VolinBasket. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 20-19 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 7-point victory in overtime. Kirovograd made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. VolinBasket was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Anton Rozhkov (198-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Ivan Gusarov (190-87) contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Kirovograd players scored in double figures. Kirovograd maintains eighth place with 6-12 record. VolinBasket at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Kirovograd will face higher ranked Tornado (#4) in Odessa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. VolinBasket will play on the road against BK Kremen in Kremenchuk.
