Regular Season Round 31: BC Odessa - BC Donetsk 90-102

There was no surprise when 13th ranked BC Odessa (5-16) was defeated at home by ninth ranked BC Donetsk (10-8) 102-90. It looked good early as BC Odessa took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then BC Donetsk took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to BC Odessa's 40. BC Donetsk players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by BC Odessa's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International point guard Denys Lukashov (190-89) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American guard Justin Love (189-78, college: St.Louis) answered with 26 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Andriy Agafonov (208-86, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points in the effort for BC Odessa. Five BC Donetsk and four BC Odessa players scored in double figures. BC Donetsk have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place. BC Odessa lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. BC Donetsk will play against Mykolaiv (#8) in Mykolaiv in the next round. BC Odessa will have a break next round.
