Regular Season Round 33: Azovmash - BC Kyiv 90-86
Date: December 28, 2012
Very predictable result in Mariupol where third ranked Azovmash (17-5) defeated bottom-ranked BC Kyiv (5-19) 90-86 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 47-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Azovmash made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Azovmash made 7 blocks. American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) chipped in 19 points and 16 rebounds. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game.
