Regular Season Round 15: Trabzonspor - Usak 62-73
Date: December 29, 2012
The game in Trabzon was also quite interesting. Second ranked Usak (12-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Trabzonspor (9-6). Usak defeated Trabzonspor 73-62 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Trabzonspor. The game was mostly controlled by Usak. Trabzonspor managed to win second period 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian center Jurica Zuza (207-78, agency: Alti Sport) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Azerbaijani forward Rasim Bashak (200-80, agency: Court Side) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Usak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Selcuk Univ. and Maliye Milli. Loser Trabzonspor dropped to the sixth place with six games lost. They share the position with Vestel and Akhisar Bld. Usak will meet at home bottom-ranked Izmir BSB (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Trabzonspor will play against Istanbulspor (#16) and hope to secure a win.
