Very expected game when 13th ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (6-10) was rolled over on the road by seventh ranked TBB Trier (9-7) 78-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by TBB Trier. Mitteldeutscher BC was better in second period 15-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mitteldeutscher BC to just 7 points in third quarter. Mitteldeutscher BC was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) fired 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The other American import Barry Stewart (191-88, college: Mississippi St.) chipped in 14 points. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five TBB Trier players scored in double figures. Forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82, agency: Limelight Hoops) produced 9 points and Icelandic point guard Hoerdur Vilhjalmsson (194-88) added 9 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. TBB Trier maintains seventh position with 9-7 record. Newly promoted Mitteldeutscher BC dropped to the fourteenth place with ten games lost. TBB Trier will face Walter Tigers (#12) in Tuebingen in the next round where they are favorite.
