Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Samsun (2-10) was rolled over on the road by ninth ranked Istanbul Universitesi (6-6) 85-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. Istanbul Universitesi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Samsun outrebounded Istanbul Universitesi 51-25 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Samsun's players. The best player for the winners was American center Jessica Davenport (196-85, college: Ohio St.) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. International point guard Nilay Kartaltepe Yigit (172-79) chipped in 8 points and 11 assists. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Megan Frazee (191-87, college: Liberty) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and her fellow American import center Chante Black (195-85, college: Duke) added 13 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Istanbul Universitesi moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Samsun lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with ten games lost. Istanbul Universitesi will meet at home higher ranked Mersin (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Samsun will play against Kayseri (#4) and hope to secure a win.
