Regular Season Round 15: Vestel - Gelisim 75-60

Not a big story in a game in Manisa where 10th ranked Gelisim (7-8) was defeated by eighth ranked Vestel (9-6) 75-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vestel. Gelisim was better in second period 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Antabia Waller (188-88, college: Auburn) helped adding 24 points and 5 steals. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jermaine Dearman (202-80, college: S.Illinois) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Melih Kapucu (-90) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Gelisim's coach rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Vestel moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Trabzonspor and Akhisar Bld. Loser Gelisim keeps the tenth position with eight games lost. Vestel will face Istanbul B.B. (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gelisim will play against Final Genclik in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
