Very predictable result in Balikesir where third ranked Tarsus Bld (9-3) smashed 13th ranked Edremit (1-11) 93-65 on Sunday. Tarsus Bld dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Edremit's 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Deniz Colakoglu (185-87, agency: 1x1 Sports) who scored 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized American forward Melisa Can (188-84, college: Rutgers) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Tarsus Bld players scored in double figures. Coach Erdel Yegin's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian swingman Marina Solopova (180-90) who recorded 19 points and the former international center Devran Tanacan (193-86, college: Colorado St.) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Tarsus Bld have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-3 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce, which they share with Kayseri. Edremit lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. Tarsus Bld will meet league's second-placed Galatasaray in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Edremit will play against Ceyhan Bld (#7) in Adana.
