An interesting game took place in Istanbul where 4th placed Darussafaka (11-4) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Balikesir (7-8) 83-76 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Darussafaka. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-11. But Darussafaka won third quarter 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Darussafaka was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Robert Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Mehmet Ozdogan (198-87) helped adding 21 points. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. Balikesir's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games.
