Fourteenth-ranked BC Kyiv (5-19) gave a tough game to eighth ranked BC Donetsk (11-10) on Sunday. BC Donetsk managed to secure only one-point victory 74-73. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Kyiv won fourth quarter 21-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) who scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. BC Donetsk's coach Josep Berrocal used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was British point guard Justin Robinson (187-87, college: Rider, agency: Two Points) who recorded 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and American forward Jarrod Jones (205-90, college: Ball St.) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four BC Kyiv players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place. BC Kyiv lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 19 games lost. BC Donetsk will meet higher ranked Hoverla (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Kyiv will have a break next round.
