Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (6-10) beat on the road bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (3-13) 81-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Oettinger Rockets Gotha. USC Leipzig managed to win second period 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chase Griffin (188-83, college: Pepperdine) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Torvoris Baker (203-83, college: Detroit Mercy) who added 15 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Oettinger Rockets Gotha players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and American swingman Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. USC Leipzig's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Oettinger Rockets Gotha moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Finke Baskets and NBC. USC Leipzig lost fifth consecutive game. USC Leipzig at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will meet at home Finke Baskets (#12) in the next round. USC Leipzig will play against Ehingen/Urspringschule (#9) in Allmendingen and hope to secure a win.
