BBL top team - Brose Bask. (14-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat twelfth ranked BBC Bayreuth (7-10) in Bamberg 85-74. The game was mostly controlled by Brose Bask.. BBC Bayreuth was better in third quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 32-of-39 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game, while BBC Bayreuth only scored eleven points from the stripe. It was a great shooting night for Brose Bask. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. BBC Bayreuth was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Casey Jacobsen (198-81, college: Stanford) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and the former international center Maik Zirbes (208-90) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican guard Kevin Hamilton (193-84, college: Holy Cross) responded with 13 points and 5 assists and American center Gary McGhee (208-88, college: Pittsburgh) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Brose Bask. and four BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Brose Bask.. Defending champion maintains first place with 14-2 record. BBC Bayreuth at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with MBC. Brose Bask. will play against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BBC Bayreuth will play against Telekom Baskets in Bonn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
