Regular Season Round 16: Cuxhaven - NBC 92-77
Date: January 5, 2013
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked NBC (6-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (10-6) 92-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cuxhaven BasCats. NBC managed to win fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Scott Thomas (200-89, college: Bowling Green, agency: I.D.S. Law) who added 22 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Zamal Nixon (186-89, college: Houston) responded with 27 points and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and swingman Cornelius Adler (195-89) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cuxhaven BasCats moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Duesseldorf and Chemnitz. Loser NBC keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Finke Baskets and Gotha. Cuxhaven BasCats will meet BV Chemnitz 99 (#6) on the road in the next round. NBC will play against Kirchheim Knights (#14) and hope to secure a win.
