Fourth ranked Ploiesti (12-4) crushed at home 15th ranked Farul Const. (1-15) by 30 points 97-67, which is the biggest margin this round on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Ploiesti. Farul Const. was better in fourth quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a quality performance of Serbian power forward Vladimir Tica (208-81, agency: BeoExcell) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Latvian forward Ivars Timermanis (203-82) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Ploiesti's coach Vladimir Arnautovic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Serbian power forward Dragan Petronic (206-82) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian forward Nenad Markovic (199-80) scored 13 points. Five Ploiesti and four Farul Const. players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Timisoara and Targu Mures. Farul Const. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with 15 games lost. Ploiesti will face Targu Mures (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Farul Const. will play against Gaz Metan (#8) in Medias.
