Very expected game when 11th ranked DniproAzot (9-14) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked BC Donetsk (13-11) 77-61 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-61. BC Donetsk made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian power forward Darius Songaila (204-78, college: Wake Forest, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds and FYR Macedonian guard Vojdan Stojanovski (194-87) who added 18 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import forward Sam Muldrow (205-88, college: S.Carolina) scored 17 points and 4 blocks. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 13-11 record. Loser DniproAzot keeps the eleventh place with 14 games lost. BC Donetsk will have a break next round. DniproAzot will play at home against the league's second-placed Ferro-ZNTU (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
