Everything went according to plan in Bonn where thirteenth ranked Telekom Baskets (8-10) beat 16th ranked New Yorker Phantoms (6-12) 74-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Telekom Baskets. New Yorker Phantoms managed to win third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Telekom Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) fired 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. His fellow American import point guard Jared Jordan (188-84, college: Marist) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Telekom Baskets' coach Michael Koch used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. International point guard Dennis Schroeder (181-93) produced 14 points and 6 assists and Canadian guard Jermaine Anderson (188-83, college: Fordham) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Telekom Baskets moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with MBC. New Yorker Phantoms lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Fraport SKY. Telekom Baskets will meet higher ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. New Yorker Phantoms will play against EWE Baskets (#3) having rather not much hope for a victory.
