Regular Season Round 15: Turk Telekom - Galatasaray 70-76

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Galatasaray (12-3) beat 13th ranked Turk Telekom (4-11) in Ankara 76-70 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-10. But Turk Telekom won second period 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Turk Telekom 46-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Senegalese center Boniface Ndong (213-77) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 9 rebounds. American guard David Hawkins (194-82, college: Temple) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Slovenian power forward Miha Zupan (205-82) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Dee Brown (185-84, college: Illinois, agency: Priority Sports) added 11 points and 9 assists in the effort for Turk Telekom. Galatasaray moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Karsiyaka. Turk Telekom at the other side dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Gaziantep. Galatasaray is looking forward to face Antalya (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Turk Telekom will play against Besiktas in Istanbul and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
