Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Alges (2-10) were edged at home by fourth ranked Ovarense (8-3) 70-69 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Ovarense looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for the former international forward Miguel Miranda (205-78) who saved his team from a defeat with a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals. International Fernando Neves (194-80) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Ovarense players scored in double figures. International Rui Quintino (194-83) replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds and guard Antonio Pires (185-86) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Alges. Alges' coach Mario Silva rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ovarense moved-up to third place, which they share with Academica. Newly promoted Alges dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Ovarense will face Academica (#3) in Coimbra in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
