Very predictable result when twelfth ranked s Oliver Baskets (8-9) defeated on the road 17th ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (5-14) 81-74 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But EnBW Ludwigsburg won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when s Oliver Baskets won last quarter 26-20. They made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game, while EnBW Ludwigsburg only scored ten points from the stripe. They outrebounded EnBW Ludwigsburg 34-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. American guard Jimmy McKinney (192-83, college: Missouri) fired 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). His fellow American import Dwayne Anderson (198-86, college: Villanova) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five s Oliver Baskets players scored in double figures. s Oliver Baskets' coach Marcel Schroeder used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Maltese-American Darryl Jackson (189-85, college: Warner Pacific, agency: Interperformances) produced 21 points and American guard Wayne Bernard (190-81, college: Davidson, agency: Interperformances) added 21 points and 4 steals respectively for lost side. s Oliver Baskets moved-up to eleventh place. EnBW Ludwigsburg lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 14 games lost. s Oliver Baskets will meet higher ranked TBB Trier (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play against Walter Tigers (#10) in Tuebingen and hope to secure a win.
