Regular Season Round 13: Bursa BSB - Izmir BSB 74-57

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Bursa BSB (10-2) defeated at home 5th ranked Izmir BSB (6-6) 74-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bursa BSB. Izmir BSB was better in third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bursa BSB forced 19 Izmir BSB turnovers. Izmir BSB was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American center Whitney Jones (183-87, college: Arkansas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. The former international guard Pinar Turan (170-82) contributed with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Bursa BSB's coach used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Revaziye Atila (-88) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Didem Kasikci (-86) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Izmir BSB. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bursa BSB. They moved-up to second place in Group B. Loser Izmir BSB keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Bursa BSB will face Harranspor (#9) in Sanliurfa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Izmir BSB will play on the road against Anadolu Univ. (#7) in Eskisehir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
