Bottom-ranked Gargzdai-Bremena managed to get a fifth victory on Sunday night. This time they outleveled fifteenth-ranked Ezerunas-Karys 83-56. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 27-point difference suggests that Gargzdai-Bremena is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. The game without a history. Gargzdai-Bremena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Gargzdai-Bremena outrebounded Ezerunas-Karys 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by guard Mantas Martinkus (186-91) who scored that evening 18 points and forward Marius Grigaitis (196-91) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Gargzdai-Bremena players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 5 rebounds by swingman Dainius Navickas (195-78) did not help to save the game for Ezerunas-Karys. Forward Raimundas Ambrulaitis (199-82) added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Ezerunas-Karys' coach Mindaugas Kildisius gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Gargzdai-Bremena (5-19) moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Nafta Universitetas. Ezerunas-Karys lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Gargzdai-Bremena will meet higher ranked Silute (#16) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ezerunas-Karys will play against Zanavykas where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
