Regular Season Round 37: Budivelnyk - Khimik 89-67

Superleague top team - Budivelnyk (19-7) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Khimik (13-11) in Kyiv 89-67. The game without a history. Budivelnyk led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Khimik to just 7 points in first quarter. Budivelnyk brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri, agency: Edge Sports) nailed 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) accounted for 14 points. Five Budivelnyk players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Sava Lesic (205-88) came up with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian guard Devoe Joseph (193-90, college: Oregon, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points respectively for Khimik in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Budivelnyk maintains first place with 19-7 record. Khimik at the other side keeps the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with BC Donetsk. Budivelnyk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Khimik will play at home against DniproAzot (#10) in Dniprodzerzhynsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
