Regular Season Round 15: Banvit BK - Aliaga 94-79

Very predictable result when third ranked Banvit BK (13-2) won against 8th ranked Aliaga (6-9) in Balikesir 94-79 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Banvit BK. Aliaga managed to win third quarter 27-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (211-87, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American point guard Kalin Lucas (185-89, college: Michigan St.) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Four Banvit BK players scored in double figures. Banvit BK's coach Orhun Ene used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Lionel Chalmers (184-80, college: Xavier) answered with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import power forward Marcus Arnold (207-84, college: Illinois, agency: Stanley International) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Aliaga. Banvit BK have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Fener.Ulker. Aliaga at the other side keeps the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Tofas and Erdemir. Banvit BK is looking forward to face league's leader Anadolu Efes in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Aliaga will play on the road against Hacettepe (#16) in Ankara and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
